Registered Charity no. 1093083

The Alpha Camara Nursery School serves the community of a small village near Georgetown. The school is built on land owned by the Camara family who have given it to the village. The school is run by three volunteer teachers. Children are able to attend free of charge.

There are eight other communities nearby with no nursery facilities: at present the school does not have room to take in children from neighbouring villages, but would like to be able to do so. Two rooms are presently not in use and they need to be cemented and furnished.

Via the World Food Programme, lunch is provided each day for the pupils.

At present 53 students attend.

So far the charity has supported the school with donations of books and educational materials. We are currently investigating other ways in which we can assist.
